Highland Village & Goat Island

Explore Cape Breton - a day trip from Seaweed and Sod Farm B&B

Seaweed and Sod Farm Bed & Breakfast has created a series “Day Trips” that are perfect for exploring Cape Breton Island while staying at our Cape Breton Accommodation.

Discover authentic Mi’kmaw culture along their picturesque 2.4 km trail on Goat Island in Eskasoni. Darby’s Old Church Kitchen is 7 minutes beyond the Highland Village and is a great spot for lunch. After lunch, backtrack to The Highland Village, a living history museum and folklife centre that celebrates the story, language and living culture of Nova Scotia Gaels. On your way to Baddeck for supper you can make a pit stop at Big Spruce Brewing for a flight of organic microbrewery beer. Catch the sunset at St. Ann’s Bay lookoff or back here at the B&B.
